WHAT ARE BONTAN?
Bontan are humanoid shaped yeti-like creatures. They mostly spawned in snowy places at first, but eventually moved on to other biomes, their bodies adapting to their needs.GENDER AND SEXUALITY
Bontan follow their own gender norms. They can be any binary gender, non binary, genderless or genderfluid as they please.
Any pronouns apply.
Bontan reproduction is mammal. Due to their survival struggles as they developed, they can all carry or impregnate.
Genitalia is ambiguous and can be obvious to sight or not by choice and need.MAGIC AND ABILITIES
Bontan do not have any affinity to magic, unless cursed or blessed.
Bontan are quite good at doing stuff with their bodies, in construction and sports.
Bontan enjoy sports of any kinds. Their most commonly enjoyed sport is raptor racing.EATING HABITS
Bontan are omnivore. They enjoy to hunt, fish, scavenge and farm.FASHION

Blessed bontan are bontan that have been rewarded by the gods by doing a good deed, by just faith, or by working in stuff that pleases the gods, as priests or in magic research.
Cursed bontan are bontan that have been punished by the gods by commiting crimes, tampering with magic using forbidden resources or making deals with evil gods.RELIGION
Bontan can be followers of gods or not. Bontan can be atheist, however, atheist bontans are seen basically as flat earthers, since gods do visit the land and are visually present.
In bontan world, gods are basically overpowered aliens taking care of the galaxy they currently live on.POPULATION AND OTHER SPECIES
Bontan are not the only species in this world, but due to their succesful survivial and development in evolution, they are the most common among the land with human-ish intelligence and society.

City bontan live in concrete houses, in concrete and glass cities. They have human-like technology they developed for survival.
Beach bontan live in land by the sea, in huts. They feed mainly from fishing and farming. There is also mutated aquatic bontan living underwater.
Mountain bontan live in caves and huts, and feed from hunting and foraging.
Snow bontan live in snow and ice forts, they enjoy fishing, hunting and racing.
Jungle bontan are more in touch with nature. They live in huts and hollowed trees.
Space bontan are city bontan that have decided to explore space and stayed there. Most of them have developed alien mutations that make their space life easier.

BONTAN ANATOMY
Bontan's body are mostly humanoid in shape, though they can be drawn and estilized as wished, as long as they follow the main indications.
They have most of their body covered on thick fur, and some parts like face, hands and feet covered on light fuzz. No visible part of a bontan is hair-less, except innards, nails, noseplate, horns and pawpads.
A bontan's pawpad covers the entire palm and sole.

DESIGN RULES
- Nose plates are mandatory.
- Horns are mandatory unless mutated.
- Horns, ears and tail should be, at maximum, of half forearm lenght unless mutated.
- Hands and feet have canonly 5 fingers/toes each, but can be estilized to have less or be just a blob as long as shape is understandable.

- Thick fur can cover as much as you want as long as face, hands and feet are left with fuzz lenght.
General coverage patterns:

- Thick fur should cover at least head, forearm and calves.
- Any clothing style is okay.
- For now, bontan playable characters and adopts will be adults only (Age range equivalent to human 18-70).
- Bontan myos can only have common traits.
- Horns, teeth and nails are made of bone and keratin, and can be of any color.
- The fuzz covering the "naked" parts of the body is kind of see through and can have markings with no problem. It is usually flesh colored, but can also be any color. Flesh itself matches innards color.
- Sclera and insides can be of any color, but must still be made of flesh.
- They bleed regular blood. Blood can be of any color.
- Pupils can be of any shape.
- Thick fur is regular fur, coat can be of any color, any markings, as long as they are just fur markings.
- Tongue is arrow shaped.

- Bontan can have piercings, and tattoos, and wear or need glasses or any kind of aid.
- Bontan can have scars and use make up.

HOW TO DRAW MY BONTAN?
theres a lot of ways to draw a bontan as long as the rules are followed, but the following are suggestions to use since I imagine they look good!

TRAITS GUIDENaturally, bontan possess many common traits, unless their bodies have mutated to acclimate to their surroundings.
MYO bontan can only be designed with common traits, unless you have permission to add mutations.

RULES!
- To be part of this myo event and the community if any happens to form around the species, you have to be at least +18. You can happen to own a bontan due to participating in raffles or buying or trading or gifting a design or myo slot from someone else if you like the species/concept, but can not be part of the discord or activities unless you are an adult, for obvious safety reasons.- Bontan with NSFW art or usage can NOT be sold, traded or gifted to minors. Users found to be doing this will be blacklisted, and characters will be either voided (if MYO) or revoked (if adopts made by me).
- MYO slots from free MYO events can NOT be sold, traded or gifted. Free MYO events are free and whoever wants to join can do it until event closes. MYO slots from MYO events won't expire. If you want to get rid of it, you can just let me know so I will delete it from the tracker.- MYO characters made from MYO slots in free MYO events can't be sold. They can only be traded or gifted. If you want to sell your design, however, you can redesign it to get rid of the bontan traits (using a new drawing that is not the bontan approved one), and you can sell that one. Pricing should be up to your personal design fees. The bontan design can either be voided or used as an additional form for the character, which can still remain a bontan. After this has happened the bontan then is ruled by my personal adopt rules, which are "It can not be sold for more than what was bought unless it comes with personal or commissioned art that can add to the price."- Bontan can either use clothes or not. Non clothed bontan should be kept sfw in MYO approval submission (no genitalia showing).- Only approved bontan will be registered as official.
- Bontan designed as MYOs so far should be young adults only (I have to design other life stages oops. They might be allowed in the future.)- Bontan designs can be done by yourself or by other artists (commissioned, gifted, traded). But must be man made. I will not accept AI art. If your design is made by other artist you must provide credits.- Bontan designs can be made digitally or traditionally. If traditionally you should submit a HQ picture or scan of the art piece for the approval.- Art for the bontan design should be base colored to be approved. Shading is allowed as long as it doesnt obscure the design much. Lines can be sketchy but should be clean enough to see design features and traits used.- Bontan designs can be based of or inspired by canon designs from any series or fandoms youd like. However this only applies to free myo slots and remember anyone has the same right as you to base their design off the same character.- Bontan designs can be an alt form of premade ocs or based off them. But if traded or gifted, both designs should go together.

TOS:- Any design you do belongs to yourself. You can give it both personal and/or commercial use. But commercial use should only concern to your character, not the species as main focus. This means you can use it for merch, streaming, content creation, etc. But as mentioned, species should only be a characteristic of your character. And should not be the main focus on the commercial usage. Ex. You can't advertise your character as "x, the bontan", just as "x" and x just happens to be a bontan. Makes sense? You can mention the species in description and creation, just not make it exclusively the main focus.
- Bontan being a 18+ species, they can be shown in nsfw art. This includes fetish art since I have no judgement against fetishes. However, any fetish art involving bontan designs should be kept private and not be posted publicly. Nsfw must be flagged as such. Nsfw includes full nudity, wounds, sex, drug use, heavy abuse. This specific term concerns bontan designs only. Side designs of the same chara can be used as the user wishes or should follow other species TOS/rules as needed.
- Bontan can not be used for any criminal or hateful means like homophobia, transphobia, racism or ableism. This species is created and run by poc LGBT, so please refrain from interact with it if you are hateful towards it.
- Bontan can not and SHOULD NOT be used for any power imbalance dynamics like blackmail or grooming.Any future species event or development might change or add more to these rules and terms. However the ones until now (June 2025) are tied to the rules and terms written here only.If rules and terms are not followed accordingly, the user breaking them will be blacklisted and their bontan voided.
Voided bontan will not count as bontan even if traded to other users after voiding has happened. You have, however, one week to trade or gift away your character before it gets officially voided after voiding notification if you want to keep it as a bontan.
Blacklisted users should not get any bontan sold, traded or gifted to and wont be able to own MYO slots. Any user found breaking this rule will also be blacklisted! You have been warned.
